Hamburger Patties with Mashed Potato and Gravy

Hamburger Patties with Mashed Potato and Gravy

Sometimes it is nice to have some comfort food and even it seems a bit heavy you can make it healthy. My kids as many others don't enjoy too much vegetables, we try to force them but it doesn't usually work. I know many parents would agree to this so I made yummy hamburger patties with some vegetables.

Patties Ingredients:

Hamburger 2 lbs
2 medium sized carrots
1 onion
1 bell pepper
3 eggs
5 slices bread
salt & pepper to taste

Take a bowl for mixing, remove the packaging and place the hamburger in the bowl. Chop the carrots, onion, and bell pepper into chunks small enough to grind, place them in the blender and grind until the vegetables are finely ground. It could be turned into a paste if needed, pour it into the bowl with hambruger. Now break the eggs into the blender and blend the eggs until beaten. Mix the hamburger, eggs, and the vegetables well, sprinkle salt and pepper as you mix. Clean your hands and toast the slices of bread, as they are toasted grind the dry toasts in the blender. Remember to clean the blender and wipe it dry before grinding the dry toasts. Once all the 5 slices of toasts are grinded pour it into the bowl the remaining mixture. Now it is ready to to form in patties and fry them on the grill or pan with some butter.

Mashed Potato
Boil 4 large potatoes in a pot and remove the skin once cooked. Smash the hot cooked potatoes with the smasher or fork and add as much butter you want as you smash the potatoes. If you have any garlic salt sprinkle for taste.

Gravy
After you fry all the patties on the pan, don't waste the butter or remaings from frying the patties. This will add great flavor to your gravy. Keep the heat on medium, add 1 cup beef broth, 2 teaspoons of plain flour and mix until it thickens. OR you can add 1 cup water to the remaings in the frying pan and add a packet of brown gravy, mix it until thickens. Now you can pour it over your hamburger patties and mashed potatoes.

My children were surprised that they were eating vegetables with their meal and most importantly they were enjoying it....
